# Syntalic — CPG Analytics for Agents — Setup

Get your agent connected to Syntalic. One-time setup, then pay-per-query with USDC for live CPG pricing, share-of-shelf, and promo intelligence.

## Quick Start

```bash
npx @syntalic/mcp-server --setup
```

The setup wizard walks you through:

1. **Generate a multi-chain wallet** (or set `CRUSH_EVM_PRIVATE_KEY` + `CRUSH_SOLANA_PRIVATE_KEY` to bring your own)
2. **Optionally auto-configure Claude Code** (or skip for manual setup)
3. **Reminds you to back up** — run `--export-keys` before funding

Fund any chain with USDC (USDC.e on Tempo) and start querying. The client auto-picks the chain with balance. No API key needed — payment is the auth.

## Manual Setup

### Claude Code

```bash
claude mcp add -s user syntalic -- npx -y @syntalic/mcp-server
```

Or add to `~/.claude/settings.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "syntalic": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@syntalic/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}
```

### Codex

Add to `~/.codex/config.toml`:

```toml
[mcp_servers.syntalic]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "@syntalic/mcp-server"]
```

### Cursor

Add to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "syntalic": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@syntalic/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}
```

### Windsurf

Add to `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "syntalic": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@syntalic/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

Add to `.vscode/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "syntalic": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@syntalic/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}
```

## Bring Your Own Keys

Pass BOTH `CRUSH_EVM_PRIVATE_KEY` and `CRUSH_SOLANA_PRIVATE_KEY` via your config's env section. Partial configs are rejected at startup. JSON clients use `"env": {}`, Codex uses TOML (`env = { ... }` inline or a nested `[mcp_servers.syntalic.env]` table).

## CLI Commands

| Command | Purpose |
|---------|---------|
| `--setup` | Interactive setup (wallet + agent wiring) |
| `--export-keys` | Print private keys for backup/import |
| `--info` | Show wallet addresses, paths, backup status |
| `--help` | Usage overview |

## How Payment Works

1. You call a tool — e.g. `best_price(q: "wireless earbuds")`
2. The API returns `402 Payment Required`
3. Your wallet automatically signs a USDC micropayment
4. You get the pricing data back

No API keys. No subscriptions. Just pay per query.
